Menyus re-creates images, inspired by classical portraits from eras long gone, being remixed through modern perspectives and technology. His faces represent the “rubber-masks” of the 21st century that we all wear from time to time. Looking grotesque, confused, or malformed - these states are very different from the ancient Greek ideals of Kalokagathia. The exponential development of our world has brought our collective spiritual threshold down to a more depressed, disenchanted reality. His art asks the same question from all of us: How can modern man, be more than a collection of selfish selfies.
